International Tourism Management
International tourism is one of the fastest developing economic sectors. Lectures by the qualified academic staff, training in the practical use of computerized reservation systems, familiarization with the cultures of different countries, and the English language study give the student a thorough knowledge of the tourism business and work experience of this field at an international level.
The graduates of this curriculum find employment in the management of tourist companies, or as experts and analysts in the field of tourism. They may specialize in the following fields: marketing and management, the organization of hotel or catering services in tourism.
International Tourism Management - this study programme trains students for working in the related companies on the positions of managers, consultants and analysts, with specialization in the fields connected with marketing, management, hotel business and catering services in the field of tourism.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
1 credit corresponds to 40 hours (one study week) of studies (lectures,seminars, practical training, independent work) performed by a student throughout his education. The total amount of credits includes mandatory self-study work, which is a core part of the curriculum. In order to achieve the goals of diploma studies the practical training forms 30 per cent of the whole capacity of the curriculum - 36 credits. The practical training in academic environment totals to 730 academic hours of practical work and exercises. Practical training in working environment comprises 640 academic hours under the

- general academic courses - 27 credits,
- general professional courses - 38 credits, including course paper - 3 credits,
- special courses - 46 credits, including internship - 18 credits, diploma thesis - 8 credits,
- electives - 9 credits.
B) General professional courses give the students professional knowledge, skills and experience for starting labour activities in the chosen area.
C) Special courses provide future specialists with theoretical knowledge, skills and experience needed for further activities in the chosen area as experts.
D) Electives enable the students to deepen their knowledge in the special disciplines connected with the future area of employment. Diploma study programme is completed with defending the diploma thesis in the student's field of specialization. Diploma thesis should be in English. Upon graduation, Estonian-American Business Academy awards diploma and diploma supplements both in Estonian and English certifying the fulfilment of the curriculum.
